He continued to hone in his surgical skills and prepare for the goal of creating a system in Sub-Saharen Africa that will mirror the work done in Aravind eye hospital system in India. He performed surgeries in Honduras in 2018 and got exposed to an efficient system there. However, in order to make the program self sustaining, the Aravind model was what captived his attention. More work is being done to set up a stand alone hosptial and capacity to build satellite locations to provide eye care for those most in need in remote villages. The initial goal about this project is to help and train local ophhtalmologists, as well as provide material goods to perform state of the art cataract surgeries.
